FWC says no more red snapper

I have recently fired up the boat to get it ready for opening day of snapper season in a few months. We started our prefishing trying out recks to see where we might want to spend most of our time fishing in the short season we are allowed to keep red snapper. FWC keeps shorting the season each year and trying to make it even shorter this year. They claim that the snapper population is diminishing, but anyone who has ever fished in the Gulf knows snapper are everywhere. On my past trip we went a few miles off shore fishing on a nature bottom. We couldnt even get our lines to the bottom before the snapper were already hooked. Snapper are almost at the point where there is to many of them. Trying to fish for something else on the bottom is nearly impossible because of the over population of the snapper. This is my opinion on the subject and i believe anyone who fishes in the Gulf thinks the same way. Hope everyone has a great season of fishing.
Good Fishing to All,
Captain Brandon
