Night Fishing

Just recently I have taken an over night trip out in the Gulf of Mexico. We were on a 36 foot Luhurs sports addition. We set out at 5am and road hard for about 200 miles to make it out to the oil rigs. Once arriving we dropped the lines in and right away started to get a few bites. We were using live sagar minnows that we caught right out of the pass. We quickly limited out on red snapper after only a few hours of fishing. Once the sun started to go down we started to troll for tuna and kings. Once the sun went completely down fishing was slow for a few hours. About 2am the fishing really started to pick up. Lines started to go down left and right. We ended up landing 5 blue fin tunas and 3 kings. Finally after a long successful night of fishing the sun started to come up and we took a break for breakfast. After a 45 minute break we got the lines wet again and trolled for a few more hours before heading back to shore. Over all we had a great trip limiting out a red snapper, 5 tuna, and 3 kings. This was my encounter of our overnight fishing trip we took a few weeks ago.

Good fishing to all,
Captain Brandon
